H1B Extension Granted to In-House Employee of IT Consulting Company

An Indian client working for a U.S. IT Consulting Company was granted a nearly 2 year extension of his H1B visa even after USCIS sent a request for evidence after the submission of the application. With USCIS becoming stricter with grants of H1-B extensions, particularly with IT Consulting Companies, the request listed a number of documents necessary to complete the decision of the H1-B extension request. Our client prepared an extensive packet of information regarding the background of the company, the background of the particular project the client would be working on, the length of the project, a list of the other team members, a statement of the work and a project report, payroll summary and check stubs, timesheets, and photos of the office as supporting evidence of his position at the company. After thorough review of the file, the USCIS approved the client’s H1-B extension for nearly two years.
