Vaishali Chaudhuri
Paralegal

Vaishali Chaudhuri is one of the senior paralegals in the law firm. She is mainly responsible for the employment based visa processing in the firm which includes PERM,I-140, H1B, L1, J1, NIW, EB1, O1, Nurse visa etc. Vaishali has completed her schooling from Lamartiniere for Girls, Calcutta, one of the premier private schools of India. She went on to complete a Bachelor's degree in History from Presidency College, Calcutta, and her Masters degree in History from Calcutta University. Vaishali also is an exponent in the ancient Indian classical temple dance form of Bharathanatyam and teaches in the New York area and has performed at the United Nations HQ in New York, Carnegie Hall (Festival of India) among others.

 

Nashwati Nirahu
Paralegal

Nashwati Nirahu graduated from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, with a Minor in Sociology. At the Gehi & Associates Nashwati has assisted in the preparation and success of numerous deportation cases. She currently serves as the Office Liason for the West Indian Community, and Paralegal.

 

Karima Azad

Paralegal 

Karima Azad has obtained a Masters of Arts and a Bachelor in Criminal Justice from the prestigious John Jay College of Criminal Justice. At Gehi & Associates she is the operations manager. Ms. Azad has over four years of experience with a strong background in Matrimonial and Family Law. She begun her legal career working as an ambassador in Queens Criminal Court under the supervision of Justice Grosso and Justice Marcia Hirsch. Ms. Azad is fluent in Bengali, Urdu, and Hindi.

 

Ron Slomin

Human Resources Manager

Ron Slomin is the Human Resources Manager for Gehi &Associates. He is a Human Resources professional with over 12 years of hands-on Generalist experiences with several industries, mostly at the senior corporate level.

Some of them include: Director of Human Resources at Island Medical Center, Human Resources Manager at Globenet Telecommunications Inc., HR/Payroll Manager at Steve and Barry's University Sportswear, and Human Resources Manager at Home Depot.

Ron has negotiated different union contracts with: Local 1199, NYSNA, Local 1150, and the Teamsters Union.He has never lost an EEO or Arbitration case and one of them was requested to be written up in the American Arbitration Association Educational Publication as a test case.

Ron is part owner of a 30 year old music school in Brooklyn, N.Y. and is a professional musician who performs in several bands, including as an official member of the New York City Auxiliary Police Band.

  

Gurhan Heinert

Senior Paralegal

Gurhan Heinert received his B.S. in Legal Studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. At Gehi & Associate's he's the Senior Paralegal of the firm and handles all cases in the field of Immigration, Bankruptcy, Divorce, Family, Criminal and Financial matters. Gurhan is fluent in Spanish and Italian.

 

Omara Mohammad

Associate Paralegal

Omara Mohammad graduated from CUNY Queens College on May 2010. She majored in Political Science with a concentration on law and politics and minored in Anthropology. She was an intern at the New York City Law Department for Interstate Child Support and assisted Paralegals with organizing and creating case files. She attended family court to observe proceedings with Lawyers and learned a lot. Omara plans to go to law school. Ms. Mohammad is fluent in Engllish, Urdu and Hindi.

Anthony Tse

Bankruptcy Paralegal

Anthony Tse is a highly experienced bankruptcy paralegal. His sole job at Gehi & Associates is to help people file for bankruptcy, and he does it very well. Mr. Tse has several years of experience doing client interviews, preparing petitions, and dealing with creditors and debt collectors. Clients who file bankruptcy with Gehi & Associates can expect to spend a lot of time with Mr. Tse.

Kathleen Sumagit-Rivera

Public Relations and Marketing Manager

Kathleen Sumagit-Rivera has a Bachelor's degree in Public Relations from the University of Oregon (UO). Prior to her position with Gehi & Associates, she worked with Holt International, an adoption agency headquartered in Eugene, Oregon. Kathleen helped develop a public relations plan to strengthen Holt International's presence with Eugene families and students at the UO. During her years in college, she was also the Education and Outreach Coordinator for her campus' Women's Center wherein she worked with a team to plan some of the biggest campus and state events.
