Sibling Petition Approved
A recent client filed for Asylum due to his fear of persecution in India and was denied. He was then ordered deported to India and was barred from entering the United States for a period of ten years. Thereafter, his brother, a United States citizen, filed a Sibling Petition on his behalf. The petition was eventually denied due to an untimely Request for Evidence response. The client made several attempts to have the case reopened, and petitioned the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Handling the appeal process himself, the client was unfamiliar with the laws and forms of the BIA. His case was eventually denied by the BIA.
The client then sought the expertise of the Gehi & Associates. Our offices filed a Motion to Reopen and submitted the appropriate forms and evidence and after reviewing the memorandum of law filed by the Gehi & Associates, P.C. the case to be reopened. The Sibling Petition was then approved, and the client was interviewed abroad and was issued his immigratnt visa. He is now a green card holder.
